PlasticSurgery.io Network
Last Updated: September 30, 2026
The PlasticSurgery.io Network (@plasticsurgery and its partner Instagram accounts, operated by Hippo Agency, the “Network”) is committed to showcasing high-quality plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, patient education, and surgical outcomes while maintaining content appropriate for a broad social media audience.
Because medical and surgical content may contain imagery that social media platforms consider graphic, explicit, sensitive, or adult in nature, all content submitted to the Network is subject to our internal editorial and safety standards in addition to the policies established by Instagram and Meta.
The Network does not accept content that visibly depicts blood, active bleeding, open wounds, open incisions, exposed internal tissue, removed skin or tissue, excess flesh, surgical specimens, exposed surgical cavities, or other graphic operative imagery.
This restriction applies even when the content is medically appropriate, educational, or routinely encountered in a clinical or surgical environment.
Our audience is primarily viewing the final educational message and patient transformation. Our philosophy is simple:
Show the transformation, not the graphic details of the procedure.
Content containing exposed nipples, areolas, genitalia, or other intimate areas will not be accepted.
When breast or body procedures are featured, patients should be appropriately covered whenever necessary using realistic and opaque garments or coverings such as:
Coverage should look realistic and appropriate to the patient and procedure.
Digital dots, emojis, logos, stickers, skin-colored patches, pixelation, blurring, or similar artificial censorship methods should not be relied upon to make otherwise explicit imagery acceptable.
The Network does not accept breast, body, or intimate-area content involving patients under 18. Any other content showing a minor requires documented consent from a parent or legal guardian, and may be declined at our discretion.
Before-and-after photography is encouraged when it clearly demonstrates a surgical result and is presented professionally.
Whenever possible, before-and-after photographs should use comparable positioning, lighting, framing, distance, and patient orientation so that the result can be evaluated fairly.
Images should focus on the surgical transformation rather than unnecessarily exposing intimate anatomy.
Patient anatomy, proportions, facial features, or surgical results should not be digitally manipulated in a manner that materially misrepresents the actual outcome.
Operating-room footage may be educational and valuable; however, being educational does not automatically make content appropriate for distribution through the Network.
Content may be declined when it prominently displays active surgery, blood, open incisions, exposed tissue, removed tissue, or other graphic procedural imagery.
When appropriate, surgical footage may be converted to black and white to reduce its graphic appearance. However, a black-and-white filter does not automatically make prohibited imagery acceptable.
If the underlying image remains excessively graphic, the content may still be declined.
When surgical or medically sensitive content is accepted, the Network may require a clearly visible content warning. Examples may include:
When required for video content, the warning may need to remain visible throughout the video rather than appearing only briefly at the beginning.
A warning does not override the other requirements of this policy. Content that we consider excessively graphic may still be declined regardless of whether a warning has been added.
The Network strongly supports educational content involving reconstructive surgery, including breast reconstruction, cancer reconstruction, craniofacial surgery, congenital conditions, trauma reconstruction, and other medically necessary procedures.
However, reconstructive or medically necessary status does not automatically exempt content from our graphic-content or nudity standards.
When sensitive anatomy is involved, appropriate opaque coverage may still be required.
An invitation to collaborate with a Network account does not guarantee acceptance. Every collaboration request is independently reviewed.
Previously accepted content should not be interpreted as approval of future content containing similar imagery. Standards may evolve as platform policies, enforcement practices, audience considerations, and our own editorial requirements change.
We may decline, remove, or discontinue participation in a collaboration when content does not meet our current standards.
Instagram and Meta ultimately control how content is classified, distributed, restricted, removed, or otherwise handled on their platforms.
The Network cannot guarantee that content accepted by our team will be approved, distributed, recommended, monetized, or remain available on Instagram or any other social media platform.
Platform moderation may involve automated systems and human review, and enforcement decisions may change over time. Our internal standards may therefore be more conservative than what an individual surgeon or practice currently publishes on its own account.
The Network reserves editorial discretion regarding all submitted content and collaboration requests.
We may decline content that we believe is excessively graphic, sexually suggestive, misleading, unnecessarily explicit, inconsistent with our audience, potentially harmful to the standing or distribution of our accounts, or otherwise inappropriate for the Network.
Acceptance of one post does not create an obligation to accept similar posts in the future.
The submitting surgeon, medical practice, or authorized representative is responsible for obtaining all necessary patient permissions, authorizations, releases, and consents required to photograph, record, submit, publish, and distribute patient-related content, including any authorization required under HIPAA and state privacy laws.
By submitting content to the Network or inviting one of our accounts as a collaborator, the submitting party represents that it has the necessary authorization to use and distribute the submitted material, and that the material does not include patient names or other identifying details beyond what the patient has authorized.
The submitting party also remains responsible for the accuracy of medical statements, procedure descriptions, credentials, patient information, and other factual representations associated with its content, and for complying with the advertising rules that apply to its practice.
By submitting content or inviting a Network account to collaborate, the submitting party grants Hippo Agency permission to publish, display, crop, caption, and share that content on Network accounts, and to keep previously published posts online unless removal is requested under this policy.
If a patient withdraws consent, or a practice needs content taken down for any other reason, contact us and we will remove it from Network accounts within a reasonable time. We cannot control copies that others have already saved or shared.
When content does not meet our standards, our team may recommend reasonable modifications such as:
Making the requested changes does not automatically guarantee publication or collaboration. The revised content remains subject to final review.
Content shared on the Network is for general education and does not constitute medical advice or an endorsement of any surgeon, practice, or result. Hippo Agency does not verify every medical claim made in submitted content.
The submitting party is responsible for its content and agrees to hold Hippo Agency harmless from claims arising from submitted material, including claims related to patient consent, privacy, accuracy, or intellectual property.
Our goal is not to diminish the educational value or significance of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Our goal is to present exceptional surgical work in a professional manner while protecting our audience, participating surgeons, and the integrity and longevity of the Network.
When in doubt, show the result, not the graphic surgery required to achieve it.
The Network reserves the right to update, modify, interpret, or apply these standards at its discretion as social media platforms, technology, and content standards evolve.
